English for AEIS students

The Admissions Exercise for International Students (AEIS) is the Ministry of Education's centralised route for international students who want a place in a Singapore mainstream school — Primary 2 to 5 or Secondary 1 to 3. English is where most applicants are decided, and English is what we teach best.

What AEIS asks of your childPrimary applicants first sit a Cambridge English Qualifications test — A2 Key for Schools for P2–P3, B1 Preliminary for Schools for P4–P5 — and must reach MOE's minimum score before they can even apply. Then comes the AEIS Mathematics paper. Secondary applicants sit AEIS English and Mathematics papers set to the Singapore syllabus.
The calendarApplications open around July, tests are held in September, and outcomes are released in December for entry the following January. Students who miss the cycle or do not gain a place can try the Supplementary AEIS (S-AEIS) early in the year.
How we prepare themA diagnostic first. Then a weekly plan built around the four Cambridge papers — Reading & Writing, Listening, Speaking — and the vocabulary, grammar and comprehension the AEIS papers expect. Mathematics support in English for the word problems that trip up strong mathematicians.
Who it is forChildren newly arrived in Singapore, families relocating from China, Malaysia, India, Indonesia, Vietnam and beyond, and international-school students switching to the mainstream system. Small groups of similar age and level; intensive weekday options for students not yet in school.
